Using the Download Tool

The Download Tool helps you export data to use for planning, analysis, and voter contact. When you click “Download as CSV”, RunningMate packages your current target population as a CSV. This CSV contains geographic, political, and demographic data about each target in your population.

  • Download Registered Data will download the currently filtered list with its currently assigned support scores and data tags. It will include a granular look at their previous voting history, which districts they are in, etc.
  • Download File for Outreach will include the more basic information about the person, including name, address, demographics, and contact information, but will also include columns to add new support scores and tags.
  • When you download a list, the file will come zipped as a csv.gz file.
  • Unzip the downloaded file, so it can be used in Excel, Google sheets, etc.
    • To unzip the file on a Mac, double click the downloaded zipped file.
    • To unzip the file on a Windows computer, right click and select Extract.
      • Some computers will need to have a tool installed to unzip files, if it does not already have one. We recommend visiting https://www.7-zip.org/ to download the 7-Zip tool.
